What do your donors see after they complete an online gift?
A thank-you page, I hope.
And you can do some cool things with that page beyond thanking. You can give donors paths to more engagement. The moment for more engagement is ripe just after they've given.
The KISSmetrics blog has some ideas for this at 10 Ways To Increase The ROI Of Your Thank You Page:
- Ask Readers to do a Survey
- Ask Readers to “Tell Us More about Yourself”
- Ask for Feedback
- Add Links to your Best Content
- Display Testimonials
- Show a Video
- Display a Promotion
- Ask them to follow you on Social Media
- Ask them to Share your Site
- Participate in your Community

My No.1 would be "Personalize it".
You've just recorded the donor's name, why not use it to thank each donor by name? You might even be able to feed back a little more if you've recorded more. How their money will be spent, for example.
