If you follow the nonprofit blogs, you've probably seen a rash or posts lately with titles like How nonprofits can use Pinterest.
Pinterest, in case you haven't read any of those posts, is a new social networking site based around sharing cool stuff you find online. It looks pretty cool.
But before you spend too much time planning how Pinterest is going to change everything for you, take note of what's at the top of the main page at the site:
People can't sign up for Pinterest. You have to get invited. That means Pinterest is populated only by super-interested early-adapter types. Not normal people.
And not your donors.
So before you go whole hog on Pinterest, wait a bit. Maybe it'll be another Facebook. But maybe it'll be another Jumo. And the latter is much more likely.
In the mean time, put all that restless energy into getting your website and emails dialed in and performing well. That's worth the effort.
