I very frequently get the question: 'What's going to change in the next 10 years?' I almost never get the question: 'What's not going to change in the next 10 years?' And I submit to you that that second question is actually the more important of the two -- because you can build a business strategy around the things that are stable in time.
Change is a given. But so is stasis. The big successes in fundraising won't be those who chased shiny objects and spent to little on the fundamentals. It'll be those who realize that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

If you want your organization to be a strong, sustainable, and successful ... don't worry so much about what will change and stop trying to predict the future. Instead, focus on what will remain constant -- knowing and caring for your supporters -- and invest your time, energy, and resources on that.
