Donors, typically slow to change giving behaviors, have been changing faster and more profoundly the last couple of years. It's important to keep up with them. Here's a post from the Candid Blog -- Five fundraising trends to capitalize on in 2022 with some great ideas for doing that:
- Flexible giving options. As more donors give online, they have more options, and we need to keep up with them, making it possible to donate with digital wallets, like Google Pay and ApplePay; payment apps, like PayPal and Venmo; and maybe even crypto.
- Personalized donor experiences. Use the data you have to really personalize each donor's communication. Be relevant to them.
- Tech-driven events. I'm tired of zoom meetings too. But many donors are discovering the joy (or necessity) of virtual connection. Donor webinars can really connect with donors. Hybrid offline/online events can too.
- Evolved recurring giving. Take advantage of the power of digital communication to make recurring giving easier, more efficient, and more motivating.
- Community through workplace giving. Target specific employers and their workforce. It can be a great way to get dedicated donors with strong giving motivations.
